Get the BEST TASTING chicken wings EVER!!

BBQ chicken wings with a cowboy coffee rub is a flavourful twist on traditional wings, combining the smoky, bold taste of coffee, with classic BBQ spices.
Ingredients:
- Olive oil
- 1 kg of chicken wings
- 1 jar of Grillstream Cowboy Coffee rub
- BBQ sauce (We recommend Sweet Baby Ray's Original)
Step 1: Prep the chicken wings
Chicken wings are usually sold whole, consisting of three parts: the drumette, the flat (or wingette), and the tip.
Separate the Drumette from the Flat - Hold the wing firmly on the cutting board. Locate the joint where the drumette meets the flat. You can find this joint by bending the wing to see where the two bones meet.
Use your knife or kitchen shears to cut through the joint. This should be relatively easy if you go through the soft cartilage. If you hit resistance, you might be cutting into the bone; adjust your angle slightly.
Separate the Flat from the Wing Tip - Locate the joint between the flat and the tip. Similar to the previous step, bend the wing to see where the bones connect.
Cut through the joint to separate the flat from the wing tip. The wing tip is often discarded or used for making chicken stock as it doesn’t have much meat.
Step 2:
Place the chicken wings in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and toss to coat evenly.
Sprinkle the cowboy coffee rub over the wings generously, ensuring each wing is well coated with the mixture. For the best flavour, you can let the wings marinate in the rub for at least 30 minutes, or cover and refrigerate for a few hours.
Step 3:
Preheat your Grillstream BBQ to around 180 to 200 °C. Place the wings on the warming rack and close the lid.
Step 4:
Cook for about 20-25 minutes, turning the wings occasionally and regulating the temperature of your BBQ. When the wings are crispy and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 75°C), take the wings out and place in a large bowl.
Step 5:
Generously pour the BBQ sauce over the wings and toss for 20 seconds until all the wings are coated.
Step 7:
Leave for 2 minutes - then serve up.
The Grillstream Cowboy Coffee rub adds a unique depth of flavour to the wings, with a subtle hint of coffee that complements the smoky, spicy, and slightly sweet profile. Perfect for a BBQ party or a casual dinner!
